Official Rules of the 2025 Matulich Foundation Free Scholarship Sweepstakes:

This scholarship sweepstakes starts on January 2, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time and ends November 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Winners will be selected on or about December 2, 2025, and will be informed of their scholarship no later than December 20, 2025. The sponsor, Matulich Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, 4621 North Landmark Drive, Orlando, FL 32817 https://matulichfoundation.org, is registered with the State of Florida to permit sponsoring this sweepstake. This sweepstake is open only to Florida residents enrolled in a Florida school of higher education, defined as a school that accepts students who have earned a high school diploma. Participation in the sweepstake is available only by registering online at the Foundation’s web site to create an account. A student may have only one account. Attempting to create more than one account may permanently ban the student from this web site. Registration requires a minimum of data consisting of name, email, and phone number. Our privacy policy is strict, and we keep this information confidential. NO CONTRIBUTION, DONATION, PURCHASE, OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY AND DONATING WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF BEING SELECTED. The amount of scholarship money to be awarded is not less than 5 percent of Matulich Foundation’s endowment, as required by IRS regulations, and may be divided into several scholarship awards with a minimum amount of $1,000 per scholarship. One free entry token is assigned to each student who registers with the Foundation. A second free token is given to students who elect to become members of the Foundation. Membership requires no fee. Each student registered with the Foundation will have an account in the Foundation’s database, indicating the number of tokens issued and each token will be assigned a unique number for use in the random drawing of prizes. In December 2025, all tokens issued by the Foundation will be included in a random drawing from a list of all students registered with the Foundation as token holders. Random drawings continue until all available scholarship funds are allocated to winners. The funds required to distribute prizes are deposited in the sponsor’s bank account at Chase Bank. The Initial deadline for registering with the Foundation is November 15, 2025. Starting at August 1, 2025, students will have an opportunity to obtain more tokens by making a donation. A free token is available without a donation as described below. Receiving a free scholarship sweepstakes taken and opening an account with the Foundation does not grant students membership in the Foundation and students who do not wish to become members will have their account closed on December 31, 2025. Scholarship winners and alternates are drawn by selecting random numbers from the entire population of sweepstakes tokens. Winners are selected in the order of drawing winning numbers and assigned an award until award funds are exhausted, with two remaining numbers used as alternates in the event winning numbers belong to students who do not qualify for the award. The minimum size of the award is $1,000 but we anticipate that awards will be larger than the minimum and will depend on the amount of donations received. Only one award is granted per winning student. Students selected as alternates are awarded $100 each. Winning students must satisfy the requirement of being enrolled in a Florida school of higher education by completing a winner’s form including verification of status certified by a school official. Students graduating in or before December 2024 are excluded. Winning students who cannot satisfy the necessary qualifications by January 31 of the following year are rejected and alternates are selected in their place. Starting on August 1, 2025, upon submitting the registration form the students will have the choice to receive a free token or make a donation and receive additional tokens depending on the amount of the donation they select. Members selecting a free token without a donation must print their registration form which will include blank fields for the member’s mailing address, and the name, title, email address, and phone number of a university official who can verify that the student qualifies for the free sweepstake token. The applicant must complete the blank fields in the form and mail it to the Foundation by first class mail no later than November 15, 2025. Upon receipt of the form, the Foundation will add one free token to the member’s account. The Foundation assumes no responsibility for mail that is lost, late, misaddressed, or otherwise not delivered properly before the application deadline.

Example of winner selection process:

This example assumes that 1,000 students have obtained 1,200 sweepstakes tokens and the available award funds amount to $3,400. The following five random numbers are selected by a computer program from the 1,200 available tokens: 726, 9, 97, 288, and 43. Students holding tokens. 726, 9, and 97 are each designated as winners of a $1,000 scholarship, which exhausts the available funds because the minimum scholarship amount is $1,000. Students holding tokens 288 and 43 are selected as alternates eligible to win $100 each. If all three winning students certify as qualified, they receive their scholarships. If one of the three does not qualify, then alternate student holding token 288 is awarded $1,000. Upon receiving their free sweepstakes token, students are given the option of becoming members of Matulich Foundation as Foundation Student Supporters. Membership entails no cost, service, or other obligation, may provide additional benefits beyond a free sweepstakes token, and implies that members agree with the Foundation’s mission and goals.
