MEMBERSHIPS
As a tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation, Matulich Foundation Inc. does not have stockholders. Instead of paying dividends, it pays scholarships to students, which is the reason the Foundation was formed. Instead of stockholders, not-for-profit organizations often have members. In many cases, members pay annual dues, which keeps the organization in operation.
Student Supporters of Matulich Foundation Inc.
Students in Florida schools of higher education may become members of Matulich Foundation and support its operations and functions in various ways. We do not ask students for donations. Our mission is to give money to them in the form of scholarships, not use them as donors. Many students register with the Foundations to participate in the current scholarship sweepstakes. To comply with Florida sweepstakes laws and requirements, receiving a sweepstakes token does not bestow membership in Matulich Foundation and these students' accounts are closed on December 31 at the end of the year’s scholarship sweepstakes.
After receiving their free sweepstakes tokens, students are offered the opportunity to become members of the Foundation as Foundation Student Supporters if they agree with the Foundation’s
mission and goals. Membership in the Foundation bestows benefits in addition to a free sweepstakes token. Matulich Foundation classifies student supporting members into two classes. Students who join the Foundation as members for the first time are Class A Supporting Members and they do not pay dues in their first year of registration. Membership lasts one calendar year regardless of the time students register.
The Class A memberships of all students who are members on December 31 are automatically renewed for the next calendar year. Students who wish to remain Class A members are requested to pay annual dues of $3 before August 1.
There is no requirement to pay dues. Students who decline to pay annual dues are reclassified as Class B members. Dues collected from Class A members increase the Foundation’s endowment by $2, and $1 is added to the Foundation’s scholarship fund. The increase in the Foundation’s endowment allows the Foundation to award more scholarships to satisfy the 5 percent minimum requirement of grant awards.
All Class A and Class B memberships are automatically renewed on January 1 of the following year. If the Foundation holds a new Sweepstakes, membership renewal automatically grants each member one free sweepstakes token. Class B members are given the option to change to Class A membership. When Class A members pay their annual dues, ten sweepstakes tokens are added to their account. Click

Sustaining Membership in Matulich Foundation inc.
Since Matulich Foundation Inc. was created in 2018, its management and operations have been performed by volunteers who sustain the Foundation with their services. The Foundation’s endowment is invested in securities that yield interest and dividend income, and some of the securities may grow in value over time. The income generated by investments must be supplemented by donations. We do not have the ability to attract large donors, so we depend on many people to sustain the Foundation.
Sustaining members of Matulich Foundation consist of people who join the Foundation because they believe in its mission and goals and want to help ensure that its life is sustained, and its endowment grows. They support the Foundation by soliciting others to become sustaining members, by participating in fund-raising programs, by making donations, and by providing advice and suggestions. Simply by lending their name as sustaining members provides support to the organization.
To continue to sustain the Foundation and maintain its existence, the Foundation depends on sustaining members to offer their voluntary support. Membership is free, although we have a voluntary $5 annual membership fee for those who wish to pay. To become a sustaining member of Matulich Foundation Inc. is simple. We ask for a minimum of information from members, all of which is secure and not disclosed to anyone outside of the Foundation. Membership is permanent until you decide to cancel.
